my first year in high school actually was easier than what i thought it would. The first semester wasn't very good cuz i thought i could slack off and not worry about my grades but i was wrong. Luckily the teachers @ animo helped me get my grades up during the 2nd semester. i had alot of fun. i got to meet alot of new people make new friends and alot more. i had alot of fun. i hope the next three years are as good as this one.

b.) What was it like to work on this project? It was difficult but exciting. We did kinda stress out at the end cuz we weren 't really on task.

something that enabled me to finish was passing the class and not having another f on my report card
on average we spent at least half the time doing what we weren't supposed to be doing
d.) working with my team members was fun and i got to know them a lot more.

SO FAR LIFE HAS BEEN GOOD. EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED LATELY IS GOOD. WELL MOSTLY EVERYTHING. SCHOOLS NOT ANY FUNNER BUT IM KEEPING MY GRADES UP. IM VERY EXCITED BECAUSE IN A WEEK MY WHOLE FAMILY IS GETTING TOGETHER. IM HOPING THAT WILL BE PRETTY FUN. I AM KINDA NERVOUS BECAUSE THE SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE OVER IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND MY GRADES AREN'T AS GOOD AS THEY SHOULD. I HAVE TO WORK HARDER SO I CAN GET MY GRADES UP AND NOT HAVE TO GO TO SUMMER SCHOOL.

i think my group is working well. we are working as a team. i have changed my behavior by concentrating on the project and nothing else, i don't really talk that much, and i don't play around as i normally do. the project will bw done by march 27th because we work hard everyday to make sure the project comes out good and to get a passing grade. if we keep on working as well as we have so far our powerpoint will be useful the day of the presentations.

i've learned that teamwork isnt just a group of people sitting together while each one is doing a different task. it's everyone working together and helping eachother out. i think my group is working as a team because we try to help each other figure out what we're going to do and how it's going to be done or by who. i changed my behavior by not talking to my partners about a subkect that doesnt have to do with what we're working on. in order to finish the project on time the team needs to focus on the main ideas instead of fooling around. the project will be done on time because we will work together to accomplish it.

interpersonal which means i think by bouncing ideas off other people
the strongest of my learning styles is musical which meand i think through rhythyms and melodies.

spatial which is thinking by images and pictures
and kinesthetic which is thinking through body sensations.

3 things i can do to improve the way i learn are
keep away from distractions
focusing on the most important things first
and paying more attention to what i do.

3 things my teachers can do to help me learn better in class are
instead of lecturing us all the time we should do more groupwork
be more specific in certain activities
and they should give us more time to compare our answers.

1) What can students do to clos ethe achievement gap? Something students can do to close the achievement gap is do their work instead of dropping out.If students stop dropping out there would be more blacks and latinos graduating highschool. By doing the work that has been assigned to them they will pull up their grades and that will prevent them from going to summer school. Students should ahow up to class more often and be on time. Many students don't show up to class that much and that lowers a teachers expectations toward a student.
2) What can parents do to close the Achievement gap? Parents should start acting more as teachers. This means not only asking how was their day but also checking their homework and making sure it is completed. Parents should raise their children by reading to them and teaching them how to writeinstead of putting them in front of the t.v or playing all day.
3) What can teachers do to close the gap? Teachers shouldn't set low expectations on any student. A teachers expectaions should always be high from all students. When a teacher has low expectations it doesn't encourage the student to do better. It just makes them think why do the work if the teacher doesn't care. A student expects from a teacher as what a teacher expects from a student. The higher expectations the yeacher has the better grade the studunt has.

These past weeks i've had so much fun. I spend alot more time with my mom and stepdad! Before i would rarely ever see my mom, now i can talk to her and tell her my problems as if she were one of my friends. For my birthday she bought me a cake and flowers then after school her and my uncles took me out to dinner. We had so much fun!!!! A couple days ago i got really good news. My uncles wife is pregnant and one of my other aunts baby will be born on the day of my dads birhtday and if its a boy he will be named after my dad . . . . . Now its only a couple of weeks till christmas . . . can't wait!!!!!!!

The sign "STOP HURTIN"G YOURSELF" means to focus more in class and do work instead of messing around because after all by not doing good in school the consequences are you might not be able to go to college and not have a career. Then you'll look back and realize that all you did throughout schoolyears by not doing work and doing what you were supposed to you hurt yourself. In middle school there were alot of people who didnt relly care for their grades or school. There was a certain person I really loved, one of my friends. Instead of doing homework or focusing in class she would go out with other people and not do schoolwork. Towards the end of the year we had many school events for the cuulminating class. Her name was never on the lists and she wondered why. The way this hurt her was she didnt het to have fun with the rest of the culminating class, she didnt get to go to special fieldtrips, dances, and she didn;t grt to walk stage with most of her friends. That didn;t only hurt her but it also hurt me that I was her bestfriend and wasn't able to spend the funnest days of middle school with my bestfriend!!!!

1.) i think the effect this activity had on the 9th graders was that they all tried to be nice to eachother and made new friends.
2.) if htis actiity was done with the 10th and 11th graders the school would be much more united and we will all know eachother.

My first month of high school was pretty fun. I did meet alot of new people but there wasnt realy much of a change. I've enjoyed this school alot. Its not what i expected. It's better than what i thought it would be.

I feel i can trust this school because so far most of my teachers help me when I need it.

Im so happy i talked to my brother and my cousin. i haventn taked or seen my brother since april. my cousin i always see him but hes usually at work and hes too busy at school or doing homework. not everything has benn so good. i found out i wont see my uncle for 3 years. i'll probably go to the movies with my cousin and my brother.

During my first week of school ere at Animo I learned that not because it's a small school and we have to wear uniform means it's boring. So far I've had a lot of fun. I've made many new friends,and I get along with people I didn't get along with in middle school. Before I never thought about going to college.But that's what Animo is about. The teachers at Animo encourage you to go to college. They do everything they can to get you in to college. At this point I'm really happy to come here and experience new things!
